The goal of the European EDIH network is to support the realization of the EU’s Digital Decade 2030 strategy:

  1. The aim is to accelerate digitalization in both the private and public sectors by promoting the adoption of new digital solutions through services.
  2. The goal is for 90 percent of EU SMEs to implement at least basic modern digital solutions in their own business operations.
  3. The aim is to establish new European digitalization-related value chains.

EDIH consortia are expected to act as centralized contact points where companies can obtain services, expertise, and other support for the adoption and application of digital solutions. Through these services, companies will have better opportunities to develop their competitiveness.

Although the designated EDIH organizations mainly operate on a national level within their own areas, companies can utilize the expertise of the whole European EDIH network. In Finland, there are four EDIH organizations:

  1. Robocoast EDIH consortium (industry)
  2. HealthHub Finland (digital solutions for health and wellbeing)
  3. Finnish AI Region – FAIR, (digital services, smart cities, and health)
  4. Location Innovation Hub – LIH, (geospatial information)
