Robocoast DIH innovation days

Robocoast DIH Innovation days are cancelled. The programme will be organized in suitable parts in accordance with Business Pori and during Robotics, AI and Innovation Week starting on 9th of November 2020 in Pori in co-operation with Business Pori.

What does the future of a modern industry look like? What kind of future and innovations will AI, Robotics, 5G, Cybersecurity and other technologies enable in different industries? How Digital Innovation Hubs have succeeded in accelerating the modernization of the industry? How can regions and public sector support innovations and technology transfer to SMEs and industries and what kind of models and services should they provide?


Best experts from European Digital innovation Hubs, R&D field and the most innovate companies as well as policymakers from Finland and Europe share their views and best practises for digital transformation of industries. Robocoast DIH innovation days are organized together with Robocoast DIH Ecosystem partners and co-operation partners.

26th of March: Participate and meet the Leading Network Partners from Robocoast Digital Innovation Hub ecosystem like RoboAI, Tampere University Pori Unit, University of Jyväskylä, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Vaasa University of Applied Sciences and Regional Development officials from Finland and EU. After the main event participants can join the industry tour or learn from the latest innovations from high tech companies around Finland and Europe.

24th and 25th of March: the 5G innovation contest offers new innovations and insights into 5G IoT technology. This student team contest offers great prizes and opportunities for students to learn from coaches and experts from innovative companies like Cimcorp, Elisa and many more. The universities offer new insights to technology in the fields ICT, robotics, and cybersecurity. The best innovative concepts will be awarded!

AI Roundtable discussion on 25th of March offers AI companies, academics and specialists new insights for development of AI. The roundtable discussions brings new knowledge on customer needs as well as latest research and innovations from universities. AI companies participate to share their view on future development. The discussions includes keynote speeches also from EU and national AI specialists and AI policy makers.

 

You are most welcome to join Robocoast DIH Innovation Days at Pori, Finland to hear and discuss about the latest technologies in AI, Robotics, 5G and Cybersecurity and how these are implemented by Digital Innovation Hubs in Finland and in Europe together with universities, research organizations, companies and policy makers.

AI Roundtable discussion

25th of March
  • Matching the most advanced AI experts, AI companies, Public Officials of National and EU AI policies and Academics from Robocoast Competence Centers.
  • A side event organised during the of Robocoast DIH innovation days

The objective of the day is to bring together the AI companies, academics, Public officials in Finland and in Europe and find concreate needs from customers, AI companies and Research Organisations. Also the competences of the best companies and research groups are showcased to increase the awareness and knowledge of the best competences in AI field.

The aim is to find concrete needs and match them with the best competences in universitites and companies. As a result of this workshop and the continuing process, new business opportunities are found and maybe even deals are made, new R&D cases are started and plans for mutual projects are made. The AI roundtable is a process that continues in Central Finland and in Obotnia during the year 2020.

As the workshop is organized in parallel with the 5G innovation Hackathon, the events bring synergi to each other. The student teams participating to innovation contest, get to pitch their solutions to advanced AI companies and thus get in contact with potential clients for student startups or potential employers. The AI companies meet potential new talents from universities and thus the AI companies have a possibility to represent their career opportunities at the social event.

Travel information

Pori is a city and municipality on the west coast of Finland. Digital Innovation Days’ venues are in the city center and hotels selected below are within 10 – 15 minutes walk from the venues. There’s also a frequent bus (line no 1) for 1 euro running between hotels and the venues.

Arrival by plane

Karhu.aero flies between Helsinki and Pori. You can buy tickets directly from karhu.aero website, or buy them as a connecting flights from Finnair.

By train

A train from Helsinki or Helsinki Airport takes around 3h 30min. The route goes via Tampere from where traveling time is 1h 30 minutes. Many cities and towns in Finland are accesible by train. Train operator VR.FI

By bus

There are direct coaches from Turku, Oulu, Helsinki and other parts of the country. See Matkahuolto.

Coronavirus Update

Robocoast DIH Innovation days are cancelled. The programme will be organized in suitable parts in accordance with Business Pori and during Robotics, AI and Innovation Week starting on 9th of November 2020 in Pori in co-operation with Business Pori.

As of 13th of March, 155 laboratory-confirmed cases caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been diagnosed in Finland, seven of them in Satakunta region. We follow the guidance of Finnish Institute of National Health. Their latest update can be found here.
